German card from the 1932 Olympics. These cards were issued as a promotion. The buyer would adhere the cards to the picture in the 1932 Olympic book...much like stamp collecting today. This photo is of the disputed finish where Babe thrust herself over the finish line in the 80m hurdle final, however, the woman that caught the tape with her neck also claimed to have finished first. Times were measured in the tenth of the second, not the 100th like today. Babe received the Gold medal, her second in the 1932 Olympics. Text is in German. Size: 3 3/8" x 4 15/16". Sammelwerk ("collection") number 6, Bild (number) 62, Gruppe (group) 19.
